Palm has made lots of updates in webOS 1.3.1 for users/consumers, but we were more interested in the things that have changed for developers. Justin and I were talking about it earlier this morning…then decided to make a recording available for everyone. We figured you might benefit from the discussion we had. We talk about four main updates:
- The DeviceInfo object, used to get information about the device the app is running on.
- An automatic way to generate a help scene.
- Enhancements to allow you to keep your phone from going dim while your app is running.
- New Sandbox security measures that will keep you from accessing all but a few directories.
